Daisy Ridley Confirms Disney Had No Fucking Clue What To Do With The Sequels

As if anyone actually believed the lip service we got from Kathleen Kennedy leading up to and following the release of Rise Of Skywalker about "yep this was our plan from the very start", Daisy Ridley confirmed last night the complete opposite.

They, in fact, had no idea what the fuck they were going to do throughout the sequel trilogy.

Here she is talking with avid Star Wars fan Josh Gad filling in for Jimmy Kimmel.

"At the beginning (Force Awakens) there was a toying with an Obi-Wan connection. Then it really went to she was no one (Last Jedi). It came to Episode 9 and JJ pitched me the film and was like 'Oh yeah Palpatine's grandaughter' and I was like 'awesome'. Then two weeks later he was like 'oh we're not sure'. So then it kept changing. So even while filming I wasn't sure what the answer was going to be."

Three different movies. Three different ideas of who the main fucking character was going to be. I mean, how do you screw this up this badly? And this is from a guy who thoroughly enjoyed most of the aspects of the sequel trilogy. There were a lot of great parts.

But don't try to pull a fast one over us, Kennedy and Disney, by saying "oh yeah from Day 1 table read for Force Awakens we knew Rey was going to be a Palpatine".

What a crock of shit. And anyone who has a semblance of a brain could tell that they were zigging and zagging their way through this entire thing with Rey. So disappointing.

How does a multi-BILLIONAIRE dollar franchise have this poor of direction? It just makes no sense. We were robbed of what could have been absolutely magical Star Wars with the sequel trilogy because the people making the decisions couldn't get out of their own fucking way.

Here's an idea - either stick with one director all the way through OR land on three directors, lock yourself in a room, and don't come out until you have the entire plot point of the trilogy and all three movies individually absolutely locked down. Just maybe? Maybe it's worth that time and commitment?

This is like the head coach of your favorite NFL team just completely ignoring the special teams, defensive, and offensive meetings all week leading up to the Super Bowl then showing up Sunday and hoping for "our best 60 minutes of football".

Jesus. Just give me Mandalorian season 2 already.
