In A Gigantic Fuck You To Everyone, ABC Renews Ellen For An 18th Season

Source - “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” after ousting three top producers amid internal allegations of racial insensitivity and sexual misconduct, has scheduled its Season 18 premiere for Monday, Sept. 21.

“I can’t wait to get back to work and back to our studio. And, yes, we’re gonna talk about it,” said Ellen DeGeneres in a statement, seemingly referring to the accusations.

Tiffany Haddish will join DeGeneres in studio on the “Ellen” stage on the Warner Bros. lot, though it will film without an in-studio audience amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis. The show’s first week back is slated to include guest appearances by Kerry Washington, Alec Baldwin, and Chrissy Teigen. The guest roster through the month includes Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Adam Sandler and Orlando Bloom. Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who was recently promoted to co-executive producer, is set to guest-host upcoming episodes of “Ellen” in the fall.

Well there you have it. The Kardashians are gone and Ellen is back. It just goes show that if makes dollars, it makes sense. I'm sure the executives at ABC understand that, which is why they decided to renew the show in the first place. Chances are they didn't even read the accusations. They just busted open the books, took one look at the ad revenue that lady brings in and said, "Yup, too big to fail!" To be honest I'm not even surprised. Sure, she's a walking reincarnation of the devil, but Ellen is also one of the most powerful women all of entertainment. It's going to take more than a few people saying she was "mean" for them to take her off the air.

Her latest horror story came in the form of how she treated the people who worked at her house. Jerry wrote about it below...

It'll be interesting to see how she addresses things once she gets back on the air. I'm sure it'll be more of the same, but I hope she owns up to at least some of it. A little accountability goes a long way. Now here's a clip from the great Tim Dillon giving his opinion on the whole fiasco. Enjoy...
