I Cannot Get Enough Of How Much Fucking Butter Goes Into Seafood Boils
I smiled ear to ear watching this video and then reading the comments on people freaking about about how much god damn butter went into this. I fucking LOVE seafood boils, and the secret ingredient, a lifetimes's supply of butter. When you thought they were done putting in butter, they just stuck in another stick of butter just to make sure. And then if you pay close attention, they add 2 more when the camera isn't on. It's so god damn beautiful. *Chef's kiss*.
I've never made a seafood boil myself due to space restrictions in my 300 square foot apartment, but I remember the first time I went to a restaurant (Chasin' Tails in Arlington VA) and ordered the crawfish boil, I was like damn this is delicious, how do they do it? I just assumed it was magic. There's really no other logical explanation on how food can be so good. All your favorite foods- crawfish, crablegs, shrimp, corn, potatoes, and probably some other stuff boiled together and then dumped onto the table in front of you, what is better that that?
You just zone in like you're taking the SATs, completely unaware of what you're doing while you're using 3 loafs of bread to soak up that delicious, unbelievable broth sauce the boil is cooked in. It wasn't until after I took my straw out of my drink and drank it directly from the bag that I learned that "special sauce" is nothing less than 500 pounds of butter. And it's SO FUCKING GOOD. If you can afford going into cardiac arrest for a few days and you've never been to a place like that, I highly suggest it. Obviously it's probably better down south, but it's also hard to fuck up cooking shrimp in a metric ton of butter and cajun seasoning wherever you are.

PS: While we're here talking about good food, go to Netflix and watch Chef's Table: BBQ. It came out on September 2nd, it's 4 episodes, and episodes 1-3 are incredible. Simply incredible. I love BBQ pretty much more than I love anything in the world, and the stories of these pitmasters will inspire you, will blow your mind, and maybe even make you cry a little. Episode 2 is my favorite, I don't want to spoil it, but it's one of the most incredible episodes of television you'll watch. So if you aren't at the beach or whatever this weekend, Chef's Table BBQ is the way to go.
