I'm Ready To Admit I Am Addicted To All Day Basketball

I knew this would happen. I knew the second we got the scrimmages down in the bubble that it was only a matter of time before my weak brain became addicted to all day basketball. I think part of the reason why I loved it from the start had to do with not getting an NCAA tournament, but as the weeks went by it became more and more clear to me that I'm almost at the point where I never want things to go back to normal when it comes to the NBA. I know that's ridiculous and life has to find a way back to how it was pre-corona, but it didn't really hit me how addicted I was until I saw today's schedule. I think part of why I've loved it so much is obviously I'm just sitting here all day in the blogging station so having 10 hours of basketball on my television is basically my heaven. For someone like me, there really isn't a much better way to spend your day. Well that brings me to today. We don't have a game until 6:30pm ET. I don't know about you, but that may as well be 6 months to my brain. What am I going to do until then? Clean my house? Take my dogs for a walk? Blog? I'd much rather be doing all those things with basketball being played if we're being honest.

So then I started to think about how we could get this all day slate even in a post bubble world. It's going to be pretty impossible to have 1pm games with fans in the stands, so it has to be that sweet spot of post bubble and pre fans. If you're telling me that the start of next season is also going to be without fans, I see no reason why we can't have all day basketball for the regular seasons. The travel and the scheduling will be a motherfucker to figure out, but don't let that be a deterrent. Don't ask me how to do it, I'm just the idea guy, but all I know is I need these all day basketball games to continue for the foreseeable future. I wouldn't even throw out the idea of having a bubble for next season too. Maybe have a couple of bubble locations or something. I dunno just figure it out because as we get deeper into the playoffs and there are less games to be played, it's only going to get harder and harder for my severely addicted brain.

And to everyone who is going to comment in this blog with "oh who even watches the NBA??" or any of that bullshit, get bent. You clicked on a basketball blog to make a comment about how much you don't watch the NBA. Very cool. I'm not talking to you. But the people that love this game and this league know what I'm talking about. The all day games in the bubble have been incredible and I'm at the point where I need the league to find a way to make this a permanent thing. Again, I don't know how they do it but I know it needs to happen.

Now, to hold you off until the "late" tip tonight, here ya go
