Horse Racing Has A New Superstar And His Name Is Tiz The Law
Well, that was something, wasn't it? That was as dominating a performance as I've ever seen in the Travers. Tiz The Law went right up front with the rest of the leaders out of the gate. He was four wide in the first turn and sat right outside of Bob Baffert's newest and greatest three year old, Uncle Chuck, until they turned for home. Then he confronted Uncle Chuck, blew him a kiss and went on to one of the most dominating wins you'll see. This horse was in a canter most of the stretch. He was practically walking for the last sixteenth of a mile.
Tiz The Law has answered every question posed to him, and the amazing thing about him is just how easy he has made it look. He won the Holy Bull earlier this year, then won the Florida Derby when we were still thinking it was a Kentucky Derby prep race. From there he dominated the Belmont Stakes and now the Travers. Certainly the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Breeders' Cup are races in his future. If he can continue to race like he did today it is not out of the question to sweep those three. Not only would that mean a Triple Crown, but I think, arguable the best single calendar year for any three year old in history. Obviously there is a long way to go, but after today it is more than ok to get excited about seeing a potential generational horse. I can't wait for Labor Day weekend in Louisville.
