The Mike Babcock To The Philadelphia Flyers Rumors Are Really Picking Up

Okay well I’m not actually sure if the rumors picked up or not but here’s the thing; Mike Babcock is out in Detroit. He’s basically already said it himself after the Red Wings were bounced by the Lightning in Game 7 last night. Do these sound like quotes that a guy who is set on returning to Detroit would say?

“Our team’s not as good as it was…Three of our best players are 34, 35, 37. So when you look at it, we’re a team that has changed a ton of players, and we’re a team that’s added a lot of youth to our lineup. But right now on the outside, they don’t pick us as a Stanley Cup contender.”

Nope. Not at all. Sounds like a guy who realizes that his time there was something special, but just like all great things, it must come to an end at some point. So when we’re counting Babcock out of Detroit already, what options are we left with?

Well what made most sense would be that Babcock would pick up and head on over to Buffalo to coach McDavid and the solid young core of players they have over there. But luckily, the NHL fucked up the draft and Edmonton has the #1 overall pick again. Nobody in the history of Edmonton has ever willingly moved to Edmonton. Cross that off the list, and cross Buffalo off the list to because as great as Jack Eichel is, it takes a little more to get Bab’s Cock to get hard. And then it comes down between the Flyers and the circus that they have going on in Toronto where they have players fucking each others’ wives and threatening to sue TSN and to beat up Instagram trolls and everything else that is wrong with that locker room. Sure, Babcock could go whip that place up into shape real quick and they’d be okay. But the point of this blog is to have something to point to and say “I told you so” when Babcock really does smarten up and come to coach Giroux and Voracek. So with all that evidence piled up together, it only makes sense that Mike Babcock will be coaching the Philadelphia Flyers next season. And when you have Del Zotto’s hair on the ice partnered with Babcock’s hair behind the bench, you’ve got yourself a legitimate Cup Contender.
