The Queen Of TikTok Weighs In On Whether Or Not Trump Should Allow Microsoft To Buy The App

I'll admit, I don't know much about TikTok, but I know that sixteen-year-old Charli D'Amelio is the queen. I know that she has over 75 million followers on the app, twenty-five million followers on Instagram, six million on YouTube, and three million on Twitter. I can also imagine how uncomfortable it must be when a grown man with a camera runs up to you and starts asking you political questions, which is why I was so impressed with her answer...

"Should Trump allow Microsoft to buy the app?"

"Uh, I don't know dude. I think TikTok is a fun app for kids to use."

Simple and to the point- "kids enjoy using the app." Can't really argue with that. If someone had asked me that same question when I was sixteen I would've inadvertently canceled myself. Well done, Charli.

Some background on recent controversy surrounding TikTok:

Critics of TikTok worry that the data it collects on its US users could end up in the hands of the Chinese government, though TikTok has said it stores its data outside of China and that it would resist any attempts by Beijing to seize the information.

"TikTok US user data is stored in the US, with strict controls on employee access. TikTok's biggest investors come from the US. We are committed to protecting our users' privacy and safety as we continue working to bring joy to families and meaningful careers to those who create on our platform," TikTok spokesperson Hilary McQuaide told CNN Business Saturday.

Cybersecurity experts have said TikTok's potential risk to national security is largely theoreticaland that there is no evidence to suggest that TikTok's user data has been compromised by Chinese intelligence.

Personally, I could care less who has my information, but some people get worked up about it and that's their prerogative. My thought is that it's all out there already anyways so why stress over it?  Charli's not. Neither is anyone in the hype house. Probably beacsue they have so much money but thats neither here nor there. No one cares who owns TikTok as long as people can keep posting videos and keep making money. That's it. On to the next one…
