Bison Running Wild In Upstate New York

BETHLEHEM – At least three buffalo were shot and killed in a creek off of Willowbrook Avenue as authorities try to round up a herd of bison that escaped from a farm in Rensselaer County, crossed the Hudson River and bolted across the Thruway. Gunshots could be heard near where authorities are searching for a herd of buffalo that bolted across the Thruway Friday morning.

One of the hunters appeared to have a heated exchange with Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple after the gunfire started and was taken into custody by the sheriff and investigator. The nature of the argument was unclear. A State Police helicopter was hovering over the location where the herd believed to be. Several of the buffalo ran down the creek after the shooting started.

Where are people at on Bison? They’re just hairy cows right? Like I consider myself a big time animal lover, when animals escape I want them to be returned safe and sound, but Bison? What the fuck even is a Bison? Sorry but I think that’s where I draw the line. I can’t force compassion, baby bison, maybe, full grown Bison, nahh.

If anything this is a teachable moment for the Bison of the world. Get cuter or smarter then maybe someone will care about you when you escape from a farm instead of shooting to kill because right now, as it currently stands, I don’t fuck with Bison, not about that life.
