Christopher Nolan's 'Tenet' Has Been Delayed Indefinitely

"Warner Bros. has removed “Tenet” from its release calendar, delivering a big blow on the exhibition industry at a time when movie theaters had hoped to peg their re-opening to the late summer debut of Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi thriller.

'We will share a new 2020 release date imminently for "Tenet," Christopher Nolan’s wholly original and mind-blowing feature,' said Warner Bros. chairman Toby Emmerich in a statement. 'Our goals throughout this process have been to ensure the highest odds of success for our films while also being ready to support our theater partners with new content as soon as they could safely reopen.'"

This is a move that sucks but is also completely necessary. I assume Nolan made this movie in the same fashion that he did a lot of his recent work, where it is designed specifically to be viewed in the theater. He is an A/V genius that puts a ton of emphasis on the experience of the film, so the movie should to be viewed in the setting it was designed for. Not just for Nolan's sake, but for all the people that worked on it as well. Not to mention the fact that this movie reportedly needs to make $800 million to break even. 

As much as I want to see this in a theater and am violently opposed to this releasing on streaming, I would also pay high end PPV numbers to watch it right now on my 18" Vizio. Probably like $150, actually. Don't tell him I said that, though. How much would you pay for right now to watch it? If you vote for option 1, I definitely won't send your IP to the FBI.
