56-Year-Old Rocket Kathy Jacobs Makes the SI Swimsuit Issue

Question: How does your publication stay relevant when it's only reason to exist is to show heavily filtered shots of swimsuit models in tropical locations to a world of people who have an unlimited supply of models, nudity and soft- and hardcore content available every minute of every day, quite literally at their fingertips?

Answer: Kathy Jacobs. That's how.

You off the world someone from my age group. The captivating, photogenic, and timeless beauty that is her. That's how you draw in the target audience with all the disposable income. Boomers like Kathy and I might now officially be out of the advertiser-coveted 18-54 demo, but our appeal defies mere abstractions like age. Which, like time itself, is relative.

NY Post - Almost three decades ago, Kathy Jacobs was a wide-eyed Ford model who landed the cover of Woman’s World. After years of modeling in New York, the married mother of one turned to a career in baking and making her own beauty products.

Now, at the age of 56, Jacobs is primed to pose once again. The 5-foot-3 Calabasas, California resident is a first-time Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model, featured in this year’s issue, out July 21. She had entered SI’s open-call contest Swim Search, and is one of six finalists among thousands of swimsuit hopefuls.

“I think it’s pretty cool that I get to come back to modeling again,” Jacobs ... tells The Post. Her takeaway? “Don’t ever give up on yourself.”

Sure, Kathy and I can still remember the Apollo program. In elementary school, we couldn't wait for Friday night when "The Brady Bunch" would come on. We watched "The Miracle on Ice" and saw "Ghostbusters" in the theater and Bowling for Soup's "1985" is about her and we get all the references from "Stranger Things" without looking them up. But all that experience just makes us more desirable. And when people born in the 90s or even the early 2000s pick up her magazine and read my posts and pleasure themselves to us, it's something more than OK. It's impossible to resist.

Keep doing you, Kathy Jacobs, you timeless, age-defying MILF. This is how you keep an anachronism like the SI Swimsuit Issue in operation.
