Orlando Sentinel – Two pitchers on the Florida Gators baseball team were arrested on UF’s campus late Sunday night and charged with criminal trespass.

Sophomores A.J. Puk and Kirby Snead were charged with a third-degree felony after University Police arrested them after climbing a crane inside a marked construction without legal authority, according to records at the Alachua County Jail.

Police took the two players into custody at the site, located near the chemistry lab building, at 11:43 p.m. Sunday. The players were booked at 1:08 a.m. in Alachua County Jail and currently remain there waiting to appear before a judge Monday morning to receive their bond amount.

Puk and Snead have been suspended indefinitely, according to the Gainesville Sun.

The 6-foot-7, 225-pound Puk, a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, earned his team-leading sixth victory during the No. 10 Gators’ 12-5 win Saturday against South Carolina. He also leads UF with 45 strikeouts.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Snead, who played at Alachua’s Santa Fe High School, pitched the final two innings Saturday and has appeared in 13 games in a relief role.

Fucking college athletes. What is it with these guys? When will the entitlement end? When will they clean their act up? Seems like every other day it’s another domestic assault, rape, hate crime, academic fraud.

…Oh wait these two dorks got drunk on a Sunday night and climbed up a crane? Seriously that’s what we’re talking about here? Felony charges and a possible 5 years in jail for playing on equipment. Nice.

Seriously, A.J. Puk and Kirby Snead…awesome names, horrible arrest story. I mean if you’re going to spend the night in jail and get suspended from the team, at least walk away with an awesome story. Something you can talk about at parties while you drink your sorrows away and miss your next few starts. “Trespassing at a construction site” just doesn’t really cut it.
