Do People Know The BU Goalie Basically Did The Same Exact Thing In The Third Period Thursday Night?

This is obviously what everyone’s talking about tonight. BU goalie Matt O’Connor getting a terrible bounce that turned the tides and all but handed PC the national championship. I was texting with my buddy about it saying I’m having a hard time feeling bad for him because he did the same thing Thursday night and he had no idea what I was talking about. So I figured I’d rewind the clock 48 hours for everyone to 13 minutes left in the semifinals….

Luckily for O’Connor BU was up by 3 that time rather than 1, but that also totally changed the game. Went from 4-1 to 4-3 in the blink of an eye and if that game was 5 minutes longer North Dakota probably would’ve won by 2. So while it sucks that it happened, I can’t cry for him. You have two mega brain farts in two huge games then you deserve to lose one of them. I kinda feel like a jerk piling on a kid but that’s just a fact. Once is a mistake, twice is a pattern.

PS – With all that said college hockey is probably the most underrated sport in the country. Absolutely never misses. The college hockey national championship is consistently one of the best games on TV every year.
