Recommended: Sara Bareilles - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (Live from Atlanta 2013)

Today on 'Recommended:', I'm bringing you down to Atlanta, Georgia for one of my favorite covers of all time - Sara Bareilles performing Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" to close out her live concert, 'Brave Enough: Live at the Variety Playhouse'. It's just Sara and her piano for the whole gig, and it's one of my favorite live records ever. I think she is legitimately one of the best pop songwriters and voices of our time. Just an awesome talent.

When Sir Elton himself heard this, he was quoted saying, "There does NOT EVER need to be another cover of this song.” and told Bareilles personally that he was blown away by her rendition. He returned the favor but duet-ing on one of her songs, 'Gravity', afterwards.....
