New Dove Soap Ad Asks Women To Choose Whether They're Average Or Beautiful And I Guess We're Supposed To Feel Bad For Them?

Look I get that being a woman in 2015 is a difficult task. You’re held to very high standards of beauty and constantly compared to photoshopped models and all that. It ain’t easy. But c’mon. You want me to feel bad about this? Want me to think “aww poor girl, she doesn’t think she’s beautiful”? Well it ain’t happening. You give me a choice between “Average” or “Beautiful” and I’m counting my lucky stars that there’s no “Ugly” door then sneaking in the average one and hoping I don’t get tackled by security. I accept that. I accept that “Beautiful” isn’t some obscure word, it has a definition that I don’t fit. To be frank, I’m not sure any of the girls in the video do either, and that’s OK. The only thing worse than not being model hot is pretending to be. Would you rather be the chick who’s like Yeah, let’s be real, I’m probably not stopping traffic. Average it is. or would you prefer the chick in the medium shirt when she clearly needs an XL but is yelling You know you want it! People like the average person, people don’t like the “I don’t care what society or rules say, I’m me and me is SEXY!” person. Let the beautiful people have their entryway, I’m more than fine using the “I had chocolate for lunch today and watched 6 hours of television” door.
