In Honor Of The Last Dance, Wake Up With Ken Griffey Jr's Last Career Homer
With the final episodes of "The Last Dance" on tv last night I got to thinking about some other endings of magical careers. We've seen some damn good players hang em up recently, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Tim Duncan, Dwyane Wade, Derek Jeter, David Ortiz, Barry Bonds, Joe Mauer, and Ken Griffey Jr. I thought it was only right to bring it back with the last homer of Griffey's Hall Of Fame career. 630 homers for The Kid and it honestly could have been closer to 730 if not for injuries. Only right that his last homer came back in Seattle as a member of the Mariners. The Kid was rocking the dad bod, and barely got enough on this ball to get it over the wall in right. Wasn't one of the trademark towering shots we saw in the 90s, but he got just enough. He did have a rocky end of his career, especially with the story of him falling asleep in the clubhouse during a game, but it was still cool to see him go out like this.
