Does Anybody Actually Know What An Astronaut Does?

I'm being serious when I ask that question. I know the definition of an astronaut, but when it comes to their day to day I have no idea what they actually do. Like what do they accomplish in space? Anytime you see a video of them they're just goofing off. Floating around (literally) without a care in the world. The fact that Nickelodeon sent them to space with a bunch of slime proves that. This isn't science...

That's adult play time. I'm starting to think that astronauts have the easiest job ever. These people literally go to space to play with toys then disguise it as "research." This was one of the their scientific responses to getting slimed in the face... 

"Good thing we have goggles." Don't get me wrong, they look like they're having a good time and I'm very jealous, but I'd like to get a breakdown of what they do day to day because I'm pretty sure it's nothing. Having said that, I'll be the first one on the waiting once Tesla starts doing commercial flights. I still think about the Wildboyz cosmonaut episode to this day. Enjoy.
