If You Think Any Of The Tampering Comments In The Jets/Pats Saga Actually Matter, You're Brain Dead

Last night I saw Pro Football Talk tweet out the news that the Jets were filing tampering charges. Loved it. I laughed out loud thinking about the Jets just giving a petty middle finger right back at the Patriots. And then once again, what do you know, I see Patriots fans are playing the Holier Than Thou card up in their Ivory Tower: “The Jets are so pathetic!” “The Jets are a laughing stock!” “The Jets are a joke of an organization!” The Jets are literally doing the exact same thing the Patriots just did.

It doesnt matter about present tense in Woody’s comments vs. past tense in Kraft’s comments. It doesn’t matter that Darrelle Revis ended up signing with the Jets. The tampering comments – Woody’s or Kraft’s – have absolutely zero effect on the outcome of the situation. Darrelle Revis signed with the Jets because they offered him a fucking boatload of money. Nothing else mattered. Nothing. You think Darrelle Revis didnt already know the Jets would like to have the best corner ever back on their team? I’m pretty sure he and everyone else in the world knew that. Woody Johnson even called Bob Kraft after the comments to clear the air and just say it was a slip up, nothing malicious. The Pats said fuck you, this as an opportunity to grab a draft pick. Rules are rules. Tampering is tampering. We all know the Pats will stoop to any level to gain an advantage and thats what they did with their tampering charge. Well within their rights. But there’s no denying its petty as fuck.

So the Jets turned right around and gave a petty “fuck you right back.” This is two teams in the same division tweaking each other. Going tit for tat as tattle tales trying to piss the other off. Started by the Patriots, retaliation by the Jets. And if you can’t admit that, you’re a fucking dick. If you’re a Jets fan or a Pats fan trying to argue why your team was right in this situation – why one example of tampering is actually valid and the other isn’t – you’re a loser. There is a ZERO PERCENT chance any off the cuff comments like that influence any free agent dealings. This is gamesmanship between two teams trying to piss each other off.

PS – Anybody who says that I’ve some how flip flopped between this and Deflategate is also brain dead. Rules are rules, like I said in this blog. Deflating footballs, tampering comments, whatever – you deserve to be punished. I have no problem with the Jets getting fined or losing a pick since they broke the rules. The point here is, once again, as always, the Patriots fan reaction to everything. The high horse mentality. Why you dickheads cant just be like “Yea this tampering thing is stupid and petty” blows my mind. Instead its the same old blind homer reaction where you feel the Pats are always right and never wrong. Just be normal for once you fucking weirdos. You just won another Super Bowl for fucks sake.
