Wake Up With ‘Cruising: The Electric Playset’

“Cruising” is a lesser-known Al Pacino film where he plays a cop who goes undercover in New York’s  S&M scene in search of someone who’s murdering gay men. It was not well received, scoring 50% on Rotten Tomatoes and less than that among viewer scores. If it was 1/10th as good as this parody commercial, it would’ve won Oscars.

I don’t know what’s better, the concept or the execution, because both are brilliant. The vintage electronics. Eye contact. Handkerchief signals. “Water sports!!!” The look on the dad’s face just slays me. This is comedy at a level “SNL” hasn’t produced in decades. I just hope it won ALL the awards at Sundance.
