Fuck Yeah I Ride!!...Kinda. You Can Too Without Buying The Whole Motorcycle!

Yeah I ride!!...I mean, back in 2015 I impulse bought a Harley Sportster, put about 1200 miles on it and then it sat in my garage collecting dust until I sold it a few months ago for a huge loss. The truth is I almost laid it down once and had a 5 year old at the time, so I thought it would be best to not push my luck, AND I never really rode it enough to justify owning it to begin with, AND because I never rode it had to be charged before I rode it every fucking time, and I'm lazy so it never got ridden, but fuck yeah I ride, brother!!

THIS HAPPENED TO ME ALL THE TIME BTW

Maybe you have thought about getting your motorcycle license, and you should, its fucking fun to ride a motorcycle! In Texas you can literally get the license by taking the class on a 100cc scooter, then you can take that same license and legally ride around on an 800lb 1500cc Harley if you want to. I would not recommend learning on a scooter if you plan to buy an actual motorcycle, but can if you want to. It also takes just 2 weekends of your time and is very easy to pass.

Anyway, the point of this blog is to let you know that if you have considered getting your motorcycle license, but have not done so because you were either intimidated because didn't think you could learn to ride one safely, or more importantly because you can't afford a motorcycle, I am here to tell you that neither of those things should stop you from getting your license.

First off, if you can ride a bike, you can ride a motorcycle, in fact in many ways it's easier than riding a bike, the bike kind of steers itself because of its weight. When I took the classes to get my license I had a leg up on many of the people in there because I had ridden scooters and mopeds and other shit before, but let me tell you, if some of those people who I graduated with can pass the test, ANYONE can, and most places do a great job of identifying those who need a little extra help getting the hang of it, again, if you can ride a bike, you can ride a motorcycle, if you can't ride a bike, stay the fuck away from motorcycles.

Second, and the main reason I wrote this blog, other than to show you what a badass I am, is to tell you that you don't have to own a motorcycle to get in on the sheer joy of ripping down some country roads. After selling my bike I had MANY days where I wished I still had it, perfect 75 degree days with nothing to do, I really wanted to just go for a fucking ride but couldn't. However, I recently discovered a site called RIDERS SHARE that allows you to rent other peoples bikes at a pretty reasonable price if you want to have yourself a day, or weekend to get your face in the wind. It's also a great way to identify which bike you want to eventually purchase, or to determine if you are really that into riding in the first place. I was one of the many that wasted a shit ton of money by purchasing a bike and letting it sit around like a big dummy because I thought I would ride it a LOT more than I actually did, but I still have my license and this website is a great way to scratch the itch to ride without getting yourself a garage trophy and wasting a ton of money. Honestly a great way to get into it, hope you enjoy!

Have a Great Fucking Day!!
