WILD Story: Former Soccer Player Was Announced Dead In 2016 In Congo ... Until He Was Found Alive Working For A German Energy Company In 2020

[Source] -  Kamba was once a promising young player for Bundesliga's FC Schalke 04. But in 2016, it was reported that Kamba had been killed during a car accident in his native Democratic Republic of Congo.

Once it was discovered he was alive, Kamba told Bild he had actually been taken advantage of by his friends. Kamba says his "companions had left him during the night while on a trip to the interior of the Congo in January 2016 and they took his papers, money and telephone." He went to the Congo's German embassy to prove he was alive in 2018, but his lack of documentation hindered this process.

According to German prosecutor Anette Milk, Kamba's ex-wife is now being investigated for fraud because she allegedly forged documents to collect on his six-figure life insurance policy. Kamba tells the publication that he was unaware of his wife's actions.

Alright, so there definitely sounds like some fishy shit here. You have  Hiannick Kamba's wife collecting 6-figures in insurance. You have him saying he tried to prove he was alive but his friends took every single document he owned to prove he's him. I can't decide if it sounds more like the plot to some sort of straight to TV movie or just Charlie in It's Always Sunny.

Imagine being a family member or a different friend though. Looking on the Internet and out of nowhere finding out this guy is alive working for a German energy company. I don't know, feel like if people think you're dead for 4 years you should be doing something cooler than working for a German energy company. Especially when you were a pretty good youth soccer player linked to major clubs in Germany.

My real question is how did he get a job and how did he eventually get out of Congo? It says the lack of documentation hindered this process. Did he eventually just prove he was who he said he was and if so how? Then how did he get other paperwork to get back to Germany and a job? Again, these are the questions that need to be asked. Actually, the one that really needs to be brought up is did he explain what happened during his job interview? Feel like that's a for-sure way to get hired no matter the position.

Now let's get into the real part of the story here. How was this plan hatched? Was it his wife and friends splitting it? Did she hire them? If not and Kamba here was part of the plan, woo buddy is he in trouble. He will NEVER hear the end of it from his wife. Obviously he has the quote that he was unaware of the actions by her. But is he just covering up? If he is being honest then he's about to have the most bizarre conversation in the history of conversations. What a breakup story though. Sure it might make you untouchable to have a girlfriend for a little, but feel like you can use that story at a bar.

I'll be honest though. I'm at the stage during quarantine where I'm like, yeah, sure, this is a normal story. Surprised murder hornets weren't involved. Surprised we didn't somehow get weirder and say he did something wild at the new job. Felt like we should be there at this stage of 2020 honestly.
