Cliff Lee To Go On 60-Day DL Because Why The Fuck Not?

MLB - The Phillies have just released a statement on Cliff Lee, announcing that they have placed him on the 60-day disabled list with a right forearm strain. They characterize it as the same injury that disabled him in 2014. Basically, the tear in his flexor tendon.

Oh, the same EXACT injury that put him on the DL twice last year that needs surgery but everyone chose the rest/rehab route?  Makes sense.  It makes perfect fucking sense.  I mean, why trade Cliff Lee and his contract that makes him Top 25 Highest Paid Athletes IN THE WORLD* away when he can still throw?  Psh.  As Ruben Amaro would (probably) say, he’s only almost 40.  He’s got his whole career ahead of him.  And if we want to get rid of him it’ll require 29 of a ballclub’s top prospects instead of the warm buckets of piss and bags of dicks that teams are offering now.

*Just a friendly reminder that Ryan Howard and Cole Hamels are also on that list.  I hate this team.
