Pardon My Take Asks Jordan Love About Being a Backup QB BEFORE He Was Drafted by the Packers Last Night

Ahead of last night's opening round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Pardon My Take had the opportunity to draft former Utah State QB Jordan Love, who was expecting to hear his name called early on.

He did, but it was to a team that caught many by surprise: The Green Bay Packers at No. 26. That raised the question: What does this mean for Aaron Rodgers? Well, being the Big J's they are, Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter proactively asked Love about a hypothetical situation if he were to be drafted by a team where he'd have to sit behind someone to start off his career. Here is how that interaction went down:

Mr. Cat: If you were to be drafted in a situation where you had to sit for a couple of years, are you gonna be pissed? Like, how does that usually go through someone's mind? I'm always curious with that because in some ways it's good because you get to learn the ropes. Are you thinking, "I want to be a starter Week 1 in the 2020 season?"

Jordan Love: I mean, my mindset is I want to be the best player I could be. If sitting behind somebody [for] a year and being able to learn that system is gonna give me the best opportunity to be the best player I can be, then that's gonna be the best situation for me. Coming into college, I had to do it. Sit behind somebody, learn. And I think it helped me a lot. But, you know, if you get thrown in the fire right away, that's what we're here for, what I signed up for. You've got to be able to handle that.

Barstool's Packers fans are handling the Jordan Love pick really well:

And I'm sure QB1 is a big fan of this one as well...

Anyways, thanks to Jordan Love for hopping on the show the same day as one of the biggest milestones in his life. Whenever he starts and balls out in the NFL, Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter will probably take credit for it and say it's all because he came on Pardon My Take on his Draft Day. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
