Angry Judge Calls Out Florida Lawyers For Showing Up To 'Zoom Court' Topless, Still In Bed
** Update: It has just come to my attention that I have double-blogged Hubbs on this one about 35 minutes after he did the same story, but I consulted my internal judge & since she's a little shady & reckless & desperate for cases (clicks), she has overruled my thoughts on taking this down. So here we go. Again.
A message from Judge Dennis Bailey of Broward County, FL on the Weston Bar Association site:
One comment that needs sharing and that is the judges would appreciate it if the lawyers and their clients keep in mind these Zoom hearings are just that: hearings. They are not casual phone conversations. It is remarkable how many ATTORNEYS appear inappropriately on camera.
We've seen many lawyers in casual shirts and blouses, with no concern for ill-grooming, in bedrooms with the master bed in the background, etc. One male lawyer appeared shirtless and one female attorney appeared still in bed, still under the covers. And putting on a beach cover-up won't cover up you're poolside in a bathing suit. So, please, if you don't mind, let's treat court hearings as court hearings, whether Zooming or not.
Bathing suits and bedrooms and bosoms, oh my.
Honestly, it's embarrassing that professional adults can't get their shit together for even a couple hours each day. Get out of bed or find a suitable Zoom background like books, brush your damn hair, put on some freakin' pants, and at least throw a good shirt on if you can't even do that. Like holy shit people.
Sincerely, Kate at 4:55pm ET on a Wednesday.
