State of the Virus: Easter Sunday
Well folks, the day that President Trump initially projected as a "beautiful time + great day" for America to be done with the Coronavirus is here... and we're not quite out of the woods yet, but let's take a look at where we are:
Coronavirus (COVID19) has been leveling off in terms of daily death rate in New York, which is the most heavily impacted area in the country, and a good sign that infection rates may begin dropping soon; but still no definite date on when we're going to be "done" with this thing. The good news is that Dr. Fauci is optimistic that we can begin to cautiously re-open most things in May.
Hopefully May is accurate and we only have a few weeks of lockdown left, but who knows. One thing is for sure, be careful of your shoes if/when you come home from a crowded place. Studies from hospitals are showing that the virus can travel 13 feet in the air and is found most heavily concentrated on the soles of healthcare workers' shoes (the virus presumably settles on the ground).
In the mean time, you're probably going to want to start stocking up for the all Coronavirus after-lockdown parties, and according to Wal-Mart, here are the order of things that have flown off the shelves nationwide so far:
- Week 1: Hand Sanitizer/Cleaners
- Week 2: Toilet Paper
- Weeks 3-4: Spiral Ham and Baking Yeast (Baking and Easter)
- Week 5: Hair Dye and Clippers
Sadly, there probably won't be any spiral hams left for your post-corona party, but good news is that booze isn't on that list YET, and I can confirm that the alcohol section of my local grocer is Overflowing with good options. Also, very important you grab a Barstool Face Cover, since citizens are going to be encouraged to wear masks in public for at least the first few months after lockdown ends.
I'm not going to pretend to know exactly how long this thing is going to last, or anything about how it's been handled, other than that this sucks for the entire world… so much so that it may have zapped us into the Upside Down in the USA this Easter, with reliable media outlets revolting against their inherent nature all over the place.
Hopefully this all wraps up quick and we can go back to arguing about which old white guy is going to be the next president again instead of every person talking like they're an expert in "pandemic management", BUT in the mean time, listen to Hard Factor News Monday thru Friday to get your daily dose of news cocaine that will keep you up to date on all the latest coronavirus information.
