Ryan Day Is Much Better Than Urban Meyer Was At Looking Like A Good-Hearted, Caring Head Coach

Wow. I was taken aback this afternoon when I was scrolling through my timeline to stumble upon such a thoughtful and mature tweet from a 19 year old. This made me proud to be a The Ohio State Buckeye. Sure, my favorite part about Chris Olave is that he caught 12 touchdowns this season. My second favorite part about him is that he's a big time player that shows up in big time games, with 2 touchdowns against #13 Wisconsin, 1 against #8 Penn State, 1 against #13 Michigan, and 1 against #3 Clemson. My third favorite part is that we have him for at least another year, maybe two. But my fourth part about him now is how he went out of his way on this cold, rainy Monday morning to thank the first responders. A classy gesture!

And I was so proud of this young man for doing this all on his own fo a grand total of.....let me check the timestamps......1 minute. Because that's when our other all-world wide receiver tweeted the exact same thing.

Uhhhhh, interesting. Maybe the wide receivers decided to do it together? But nope, as I scrolled down my timeline, I couldn't even find an Covid-19 memes to laugh at because it was flooded with every single Ohio State Buckeye player and coach letting us know how thankful they are for first responders, medical personnel, and essential workers right now.

I could go on and on and on. It's like every single player and coach on the entire staff had the exact same message. Well, except Justin Fields hasn't tweeted anything yet. But he doesn't have to….he's the best QB in the nation when the refs are fair. 

Anyways, yeah I'm not sure this is something to complain about and it's certainly not a bad thing, but I just find it funny how orchestrated it all was. Maybe space them out a little bit next time so it doesn't look so scripted. Regardless, like I've been saying lately, the big dog certainly knows how to play to his crowd.

That's the difference this coach and our last coach. The similarity is that we still win every single game that is officiated fairly. The difference is that this guy is either a genuinely great human being, or he knows how to act like one much better than Urban. Let me be clear though: I do think Urban is a really good guy that is harshly misjudged, but damn, Ryan Day is making damn sure that doesn't happen to him, too.

As we end this blog, I just had a thought pop into my head randomly that I want to leave you all with: I just want to take the time to thank all first responders, medical personnel, and all workers that continue to work.
