This Is The Worst News Of The Week: Charles Oakley Says He Doesn't Deal With Patrick Ewing Because Ewing Is 'High Maintenance'
Goddamnit. GODDAMNIT. This was the last thing I needed in life right now. Everything else is falling apart. No NCAA Tournament. No NBA. No EPL. No golf. No NOTHING. The one thing I always had in my life was a fond memory of the 90s Knicks. Ewing, Mason, Oak, Starks, etc., all just being best friends and Mason/Oak beating people up if others disagreed.
But now? Now I get this dropped on me? Well what the fuck man. I have no idea what side to take here. On one hand Patrick Ewing is the best player the Knicks have had since I've been alive. On the other hand, Oak is arguably the most beloved Knick of all time.
I'm sure Ewing was high maintenance. The dude was a star at Georgetown. He allegedly had a frozen envelope at the NBA Draft Lottery in order to make sure he went to the Knicks. He was a star from day 1. What star like that isn't high maintenance? Especially when you consider who Oak was - the dude who grinded his way to the NBA and made it as a hustler. But 10 years without talking?!? 10 years!
I need these guys to get on the same page ASAP. Outside of James Dolan being the biggest piece of shit out there, I'm chalking this up as reason No. 2 for the Knicks lack of success. Can't have the two faces of the franchise refusing to talk. Just the worst news to read right now.
There's only one person to blame.
