Sports Canceled? Nope, Darts Is Still Electric And Going Strong!
BOOM! Michael van Gerwen again! Oh, sports aren't happening? Think again.
Did you also see the ending? For some reason *checks notes* Gerwyn Price snubbed MvG's fist bump. A little bit of beef in Premier League Darts? Disgusting that Price would disrespect the GOAT like that, especially since they had a bit of a dust-up mid-match when Price almost hit MvG with a dart.
The reigning Premier League Darts champion notched another win this afternoon and continues to be one of the most exciting athletes in the world. If you've seen darts videos online, it likely includes MvG. Here's one of them...
I've been getting into Premier League Darts recently and the timing is fairly ideal with almost every other sport canceled, especially ones I watch. This is what the standings look right now almost halfway through the season...
Apparently they have phases? Two halves to the season like any sport, but I am sure I am missing something. I'll figure out, it's a learning curve becoming a darts fan.
Let's look at some other highlights from the day:
- van Gerwen was down at one point and battled back for the win, this was a huge leg winner right here (capped with his patented big-time energy)...
- The guy leading the PLD is Glen Durrant (GD is his nickname, I'd guess) and he had a clutch victory but a pretty lame celebration…
- Peter Wright doesn't need to really show off much because he lets the hair and tattoos do the talking…
- Rob Cross is still battling it out as I type this, but he just clawed back himself with a pretty awesome 119 finish…
Sold yet? If not, go for another 9-darter…
That's right, I won't disrespect Phil Taylor, who could very well be the other GOAT according to darts fans I see online. (How about this James Wade fella? He always gets 9-darters tossed on his head).
I am hooked. All the way in. Join the darts train!
