The Celtics Are Considering Not Sending Their Broadcasting Crew To Road Games Due To Coronavirus

I won't pretend for a second that I have done one ounce of research about the Coronavirus. Haven't read jack shit and frankly I don't see myself burning the midnight oil to learn all about a virus that most certainly won't impact my everyday life. I mean I don't go anywhere, I really don't do shit outside of just hanging out with my dogs and watching basketball, so I feel pretty safe. That's not me saying it's not an issue and people don't need to be careful, but the only shit I know about it is what I'm going to see on Twitter. I know people think that sports leagues may be overreacting with shutting down sports or banning fans from the arena and all that shit, and even if that's true I can understand taking the precautions.

But here's what I do know. The Celtics need to protect Mike Gorman at all costs. Even if you are someone who thinks Coronavirus is a giant fraud, you have to agree it's not worth risking it when it comes to Gorman. They say this virus is really only an issue for old people right? Well Gorman is 72 years old which I feel like is right in the sweet spot. If you're going to overreact in an effort to protect anyone, Gorman is at the top of the list. I guess Scal too, but really this is about Mike. I'd be perfectly fine if he Skyped into every broadcast on the road until this thing is figured out. I can't imagine my life without Gorman calling games and I sure as shit am not going to have to live that life because of the fucking Coronavirus.

Plus, there's another positive to this move. You now could have a situation that brings Mike and Tommy back together, even for the road games. If you're telling me there's a scenario where I get MORE of those two on my broadcasts well then where the hell do I sign up? I think Scal does as fine job and will probably be part of the Celtics broadcast future, but he's not Tommy. Nobody is. Set up a feed at Tommy's house or something and let those two shoot the shit and call the games from the comfort of their couch. The more I think about it, the more I definitely want this move to happen. This team needs a little more Mike & Tommy to get the bad taste of this horrific 1-4 stretch out of their mouths and this move might be just the thing to get the team back on track.

I'd even go so far to say the radio crew should do this as well. While Grande and Max are younger (48 and 64), they are just as important to the future of Celtics broadcasts. Two living GOATs on the mic, I'm going to need them protected too. Normally I wouldn't really give a shit about Coronavirus and all that's come with it but once we start talking about how it might impact the Celtics, well now I care deeply.
