Where Did Star Players Have the Most Forgettable Stints?

We usually have players linked in our minds to the teams they spent the most time playing for. But with a few exceptions, many of them played for others either early or in the last stages of their careers. This tweet conjured some great replies of guys on teams I'm sure many people had forgotten or even had no idea they played for.

Personally, my answer would be Atlanta Hawks legend Carmelo Anthony. He probably has a more forgettable stint in Atlanta than any of the other guys mentioned, likely due to the fact that he never actually played a game. But we'll always have the couple hours he was officially a Hawk.

But here are the best responses to Chris's tweet:

Man, I totally forgot the ghost of Tracy McGrady joined San Antonio right before the playoffs in 2013. It was the only time he ever advanced past the first round. A real shame for what could have been one of the all-time greats.

Who could forget Mike Piazza's historic five-game run with the Florida Marlins? He did actually have five RBI in those five games before he was traded to the Mets for Preston Wilson, Ed Yarnall and Geoff Goetz. Safe to say Florida lost that trade.

We don't talk about this. Andruw's last season was 2006 as far as I'm concerned.

I had no idea this was a thing, but Ewing averaged 9.6 PPG and 7.4 RPG in 2000-01 with Seattle. Also, bring back the SuperSonics.

Now I remember this vividly. JD Drew was awesome in Atlanta for the one year he was there. What I do wish I could forget, however, is the trade it took to acquire him.

Last Word on Baseball — The date was December 14, 2003. The St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves orchestrated a blockbuster trade with significant ramifications for each franchise. The Braves sent starting pitchers Jason Marquis and Adam Wainwright to the Cardinals, along with reliever Ray King. In return, Atlanta received outfielder J.D. Drew and utility-man Eli Marrero.

Yep, lost that one.

What players had a stint on your favorite team that you sometimes struggle to remember?
