Woman's Birthday RUINED When Hibachi Grill Explodes In Her Face, Lighting Two People On Fire

A woman celebrating her 26th birthday suffered second degree burns at a hibachi restaurant when the grill “exploded” and both she and the chef caught on fire.

The incident happened on Sunday when Samantha Meyers was at Kimono Japanese Steak House in Paragould, Arkansas, to celebrate her 26th birthday with her family, according to ABC News’ Little Rock affiliate KATV.

According to Myers, she said that they were all eating lunch around a freshly cleaned grill when the chef drew a heart in flammable liquid on the hibachi grill. But when the chef held a flame to the liquid, it allegedly “exploded” and both Myers and the chef caught on fire.

What an absolutely terrible way to spend your birthday. All this woman wanted was a little birthday hibachi and what does she get? A fireball straight to the face courtesy of this chef. It's a shame that the chef got taken out by the fire too. It would've been all time to see him try and use that little guy that looks like he's peeing to put out the fire.

Hibachi chefs have always given me weirdo vibes, I've never been able to trust them. This story only reassures my prior beliefs. I mean, no one normal person is out there chucking knives around like lunatics. That's one thing I never understood either. Are we sure these guys are living to their full potential? It's obvious these guys have some level of talent by not cutting their faces open every time they decide to juggle their utensils.

Like c'mon. You're telling me that this guy could put these skills to better use? I'm not here to slander what they do but I feel like that talent could be used for things other than stacking onions and lighting a flame inside of it just to impress some 16-year-old's Instagram followers.

Myers immediately ran to the bathroom to splash cold water on her face which had been burned in the accident. She said that her family asked for help from the employees while she was in the bathroom but that nobody at the establishment responded.

A bold move for nobody at the restaurant to help this lady after she just ate a fucking explosion.

Myers was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for first-degree burns on her face as well as second-degree burns on her neck and chest. Doctors also began treating her for an infection on her eyelids due to the accident.

Thankfully, only the chef and Samantha were the ones who caught on fire during the whole thing. It's also good to hear that she wasn't burned too severely, she didn't suffer third-degree burns. I just hope this serves as a PSA to everyone that hibachi is secretly a very dangerous meal. Whether it's having oil hearts explode in your face or catching a rogue knife to the jugular. You just have to keep your head on a swivel at hibachi restaurants.
