Wowwwww! Owen Wilson Has Been Cast in 'Loki'!
Wowwwwww! This is an interesting casting for the Disney+ series, but I'm more excited for Owen back in the game. I think the last live-action role I saw him in was the stinky 'Zoolander 2' in 2016. Yikes. I think this casting sort of sets the tone for the series, which we don't know a ton about at this point. Here's the synopsis from Digital Trends:
"The Loki series picks up after that point in the MCU timeline, with the title character hopping from one place to another with the powerful artifact — the Infinity Stone known as The Tesseract — and engaging in what’s likely to be all manner of schemes.
'You guys saw Avengers, right? He’s still that guy, Hiddleston explained to the audience at Marvel’s Comic-Con panel. 'And just about the last thing that happened to him was that he got Hulk-smashed, so there’s a lot of psychological evolution that hasn’t happened yet, but [Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige] has generously showed me what his plans are — I can’t tell you any of them — but it is one of the most exciting creative opportunities I think I’ve ever come across.'"
The only other big thing to note is that this is supposed to tie into 'Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness'. I'm not sure if this is still the case since they switched directors, but I would imagine so. This should be a funnier series that hopefully takes advantage of Tom Hiddleston's comedic talents, as well as Wilsons. I know the latter can do drama, but my mind always goes to him in 'Behind Enemy Lines'. Remember that gem? I low-key liked that, but the Wilson casting is still WILD to me.
By the way, here is the results of the Christian Bale vote from yesterday's blog.
