Mixup On Waze App Leads Gamblers To A Nature Reserve 45 Miles From The Borgata Casino

Normally if you wind up in the middle of the woods during a casino outing it's because you've angered the mob. In this case, it's a SNAFU with the Waze GPS App on people's phones.

From Fox News:

Lt. Christopher Parise with the Jackson Police Department is warning people traveling to the Borgata Hotel Casino in Atlantic City to pay careful attention if using the Waze navigation app as many of them are ending up in a remote wildlife reserve.

He said many drivers, mainly from northern New Jersey and New York, have ended up on the 12,000-acre reserve, which is about 45 miles away from the casino.

“Currently, the app is sending motorists into the wildlife area, onto unpaved roads, which eventually leads to them becoming disabled.”

Look at this smug, little asshole.. he doesn't even care:

I looked up the distance between the two on Google Maps & the mistake is over an hour's drive away from the Borgata. That super sucks, but also - how do you not notice you're going deeper & deeper into the infamous Jersey Pine Barrens?

Do you not see that traffic has slowly become more dirt bikes & four wheelers than cars? Have you not noticed that the paved road has given way to clay, sand and rocks? Do you not see the Pineys out there huntin', muddin', shootin', fishin' and weaving around amongst the conifers? Hath the Jersey Devil not climbed onto your windshield yet? Looking up the location tag on Instagram it is literally just a forest where jersey guys show off their Jeep/country boi lifestyles… a far cry from the bright lights (ehhh) of Atlantic City.

If I were someone who ended up there, I'd take it as a sign that lady lucky wasn't in my corner for the day. Your best bet at that point is to take your absolute boat of an '87 Cadillac on a stroll through nature & try again tomorrow.
