Betty White's 98th Birthday Message From Ryan Reynolds & Sandra Bullock Is A Delight
Ryan Reynolds & Sandra Bullock starred along side Betty White in the 2009 rom-com The Proposal, and it looks like they've stayed connected ever since. In a video Reynolds posted this morning that now has nearly 1M views & 100K 'likes', he & Bullock start out singing the traditional 'Happy Birthday' song & then Reynolds veers off to prove he loves White more than Bullock. A delight... and I'd probably try to do the same.
Betty White is easily one of the most universally loved Hollywood personalities in the US. She got her start on radio in the 1940s, was on the Marty Tyler Moore Show & then played Rose on the beloved Golden Girls (whose theme song is our Chaps & Kate Show intro every day, nbd). The list on her resume features tons of other shows & films, including the pinnacle of any star's career - Spongebob Squarepants.
White was also the oldest actress to host SNL in 2010 at age 88, and she's been married three times (which gives me hope, ha ha). On top of 20+ Emmy noms with 8 wins, she's also an honorary forest ranger with the Forest Service for her work in animal welfare.
In closing, here's part of an interview she did with Parade Magazine last year…
Does she have any tricks or tips for living happily and healthfully for more than nine decades? Indeed: “Enjoy life,” she says. “Accentuate the positive, not the negative. It sounds so trite, but a lot of people will pick out something to complain about, rather than say, ‘Hey, that was great!’ It’s not hard to find great stuff if you look.”
She also loves vodka and hot dogs, “probably in that order.”
Betty, hope you get plenty of hot dogs & vodka today. Cheers to 98.
