Three Months Later The Domingo German Situation Remains a Complete Mystery

It's December 19th, almost exactly three full months since Domingo German was placed on administrative leave, and we still have no idea what Domingo German did and what punishment he will be facing in 2020. I have no problem with Major League Baseball taking the necessary time to figure this out, but I still thought we'd hear something by now. We had Bob Klapisch on last week's Short Porch, for one of our best interviews to date, and he mentioned that MLB put the German case on the back burner for the Astros investigation. That seems like a stretch, but considering we don't know anything and it's December 19th I actually believe that now.

Klapisch's latest update on the situation suggests that German needs to get better first. That would lead you to believe he's in some kind of rehab situation. It's clear something bad happened, but you can't speculate because there's literally no information out there. It would appear there's a lot of levels to the story which would explain why it's taken so long to resolve. Still, I've never seen a story like this kept quiet for so long.

Not only are we the fans in limbo here, but so are the Yankees. Domingo is one of the best pitchers in the organization and the team has no idea how long they'll be without him. Obviously his situation is very serious and I'm not taking anything away from that, but there is a baseball side of this that needs to be resolved as well.

Hopefully Domingo is taking this seriously, gets the help he needs, and changes for the better.
