Book The Tickets To Miami: Pope Francis Is Officially On The Lamar Jackson Train

The SunThe influence of quarterback Lamar Jackson and the Ravens has reached all the way to the Vatican.

Baltimore Archbishop William E. Lori, in Rome with other bishops from the area for the “Ad Limina” visit in which they deliver detailed reports about their dioceses, presented Pope Francis with a custom-made Ravens jersey Wednesday. The jersey, featuring “Francis” on the back and Jackson’s No. 8, was signed by Jackson and coach John Harbaugh.

It’s officially OVER bitches. The man upstairs has made his choice and his choice is Lamar Jackson. That’s just about the biggest endorsement you can get. I’m not here to say Lamar is the second coming but when you’ve got the Pope on your side… it makes a fella wonder, don’t it?

I mean think about it. He made claims over and over again during the draft process that He was a quarterback. Insisted upon it. People laughed. People mocked him. Gets drafted in the first round anyway. He goes to temple and waits His turn behind Joe Flacco, asking the great Super Bowl MVP questions and absorbing as much knowledge as He can, knowing His day is coming. Then the Ravens run out of wine at 4-5 going into the bye week and Lamar is asked to step up. He turns water into wine and brings the Ravens from 3 games back in the AFC North to a 10-6 finish and a division title. Miracle worker like you read about.

And despite all that, there were still nonbelievers who called Him a fraud in the offseason. Said He was committing blasphemy proclaiming Himself to be an NFL quarterback. Mocked Him. Laughed at Him. Threw stones at Him. Perhaps He died when they fell to the Browns at 2-2, I haven’t hashed out that part of the story yet. But suffice to say He has risen and is on a redemption tour like no one has ever seen before, and now he’s got His Holiness in His corner to boot.

We’ve already seen the power of a Pope Francis endorsement. Saints vs Ravens Super Bowl confirmed.
