The List Of 2020 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Nominees Is STACKED

Source - The nominations for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s class of 2020 are in and the list includes the Notorious B.I.G., Whitney Houston, Pat Benatar, Dave Matthews Band, Depeche Mode, the Doobie Brothers, Judas Priest, Kraftwerk, MC5, Motörhead, Nine Inch Nails, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Todd Rundgren, Soundgarden, T. Rex and Thin Lizzy.

The top vote-getters will be announced in January and inducted May 2nd, 2020 at a ceremony at Cleveland’s Public Hall.

Well there you have it. Easily the most all encompassing collection of nominees I’ve ever seen. You’ve got soul, funk, rap, emo, metal, punk, R&B, Rock, whatever Tom Rundgren is and everything in between. And to be honest, I love them all…with the exception of Soundgarden because they put me to sleep. Other than that the list is all-time. I mean Motörhead was on the soundtrack for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 for Christ sakes! Seriously though, listen to any of these songs and tell me they don’t deserve to be in the hall…

…you can’t. And if you don’t appreciate that last one you can go fuck yourself. Based off popularity alone all of those artist deserve to be on the list. I listened to a few other songs, but they would hurt my argument for the list being “all time” so I left them out.

Regardless, here’s how selection and voting works:

To be eligible for this year’s ballot, each nominee’s first single or album had to be released in 1994 or earlier.

A voter pool of more than 1,000 artists, historians, journalists and members of the music industry will select the new class. Fans will also have a chance to take part in the process by voting at rockhall.com or an interactive kiosk at the museum in Cleveland.

I’m not going to vote because I’m incredibly lazy, but if you want to, you can vote at rockhall.com. Also, if you want to travel to 1995, you can vote at an interactive kiosk in Cleveland. Gross. The induction ceremony will take place on May 2nd. Can’t wait.
