De'Aaron Fox With A Rational, Correct Response If He Would Have Stayed At Kentucky If He Got Paid: 'Fuck No'

I love De’Aaron Fox. He’s one of my favorite players in the Cal-era at Kentucky. However, he gives a correct response that could potentially piss off Kentucky fans. Asked if he would have stayed at Kentucky for a second year if he was getting paid he drops a ‘fuck no’ with a ton of laughter and emphasis on both the fuck and no.

That’s correct. That’s because De’Aaron Fox isn’t one of the guys who necessarily would benefit the most from the ability to make money off of name, image and likeness. Don’t get me wrong. Fox would make well into the six figures in Lexington during the one year he had there. But, his rookie contract:

Yeah, you’re not making that kind of money with the Fair Play Act. That’s what makes Fox’s answer so correct and hilarious. He knows it. He’s talked before about the ability to make money off of his NIL. Like I said he’s probably making a couple hundred thousand at Kentucky. Any top draft pick should always leave college as early as possible.

Again, the people that would benefit? Let’s stick at Kentucky. Someone like Tyler Ulis or Josh Harrellson would have made a ton of money in Lexington during their breakout years. Ulis is bouncing around different NBA teams on different contracts while Jorts is playing overseas. They would have benefited from the hundred thousandish dollars they would have made in Lexington.

I vote to get rid of Condi Rice and let De’Aaron Fox lead the Commission to fix college hoops.
