Comcast Is Making A Movie About Whitey Bulger And Catherine Greig's Sixteen Years On The Lam

Source - Whitey Bulger’s infamy lives on. Comcast’s new production wing, Sky Studios, is working on a TV series about James “Whitey” Bulger, the notorious Boston mobster who became an FBI informant and inspired countless crime films, including 2006’s “The Departed” to 2015’s “Black Mass.”

The epic will focus on Bulger’s 16 years on the lam, drawing upon investigative reporting and exclusive interviews from the upcoming book “Hunting Whitey: The Inside Story of the Capture & Killing of America’s Most Wanted Crime Boss” by Casey Sherman and Dave Wage, due out in May 2020, according to Variety.

The movie will air between 12:00 and 5:00 PM, you just have to clear your schedule and wait around for the projectionist to show up and play it. If they do show up, it’ll be fifty-fifty as to whether or not they know how to use the machine or if they have to call another projectionist to get the job done. After that, don’t be surprised if they take a break mid-shift to drop a steamy dump in your personal bathroom.

In all honesty, I’d like to say that I’m not going to watch this movie, but I am. Despite what I’m sure will be a film full of terrible Boston accents and the retelling of a story we already know, I’m going to watch it and I’m going to love it. I can’t get enough of Whitey Bulger. Maybe it’s a Massachusetts thing, but his story is so fascinating to me.

Here’s are the only details we know so far:

According to Sherman and Wedge, the project “will reveal how the aging gangster and his girlfriend avoided capture, spotlight the agents who brought them down, showcase the sensational trial back in Boston, and disclose the bizarre series of events that led to Whitey Bulger’s murder.”

I’d also like them to cover him getting bludgeoned to death with padlocks and having his tongue cut out, but I doubt they will. I’m more interested in who they interviewed in the book and how it’ll play into the movie anyway. Even though Whitey’s dead, it’s still got to be terrifying for them to tell their story. As they say, “the (Italian) mob has a lot of teeth.” The Irish mob just has a lot of depression but that’s neither here nor there. Regardless, I’m excited for this to come out and you should be too. It’s been a long four years since the last time we saw Whitey Bulger on the big screen…
