GROSSE TETE, La. (WAFB) – A woman was sent to the hospital after biting the testicles of a camel that was sitting on her at the truck stop in Grosse Tete, Louisiana, according to the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office.
On Thursday evening, a couple at the I-10 truck stop in Grosse Tete was chasing after their deaf dog ran away from them, Sheriff Brett Stassi said. The dog, according to Stassi, ran under the double barbed wire fencing that fenced off the enclosure of the camel.
The couple chased after the dog into the enclosure, meeting an agitated camel, who is named Caspar. Sheriff Stassi said, somehow, the camel sat on the woman. The woman, possibly out of self-defense, bit the camel’s testicles.
The woman was sent to the hospital, according to the sheriff. The extent of her injuries was not released.
Dogs can be the biggest assholes on earth. I love them unconditionally but they’re always getting into mischief. A real trouble making species they are.

But those moves pale in comparison to getting loose, climbing under a double barbed wire fence and harassing a camel at a Louisiana truck stop to the point where he’s so pissed off that he sits on your owner and the only way to avoid death is to chomp on his nut sack. My dog Guinness has destroyed furniture, gotten skunked and rolled in dog shit, sure, but I’ve never had to bite down on a 1000 pound African animal’s balls to escape death because of him. That doesn’t make him a not a little trouble maker though. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s kinda like the quote from The Sandlot. “GET INTO TROUBLE! Not too much, but some.”
Dogs are more fun when they’re a little too adventurous and that’s just a fact. Maybe the Stassi family’s dog went a little to0 far with his antics, but at the same time we all know he meant well. The end result wasn’t something he hoped for. All he was doing was seeing what the hubbub was about in the camel’s den. Can’t say I blame him, camels are cool animals.
Nonetheless we all know that this mischievous pooch undoubtedly felt lots of shame and I would hope that the Stassi family rewarded him with lots of treats and pets. He just wanted to go for a little adventure; he didn’t mean to get anyone squashed by a camel at a truck stop. In fact if it’s anyone’s fault, it’s the assholes in Louisiana who have a camel at a truck stop anyways. They’re the ones who need to be blamed.
