Domingo German Will Not Pitch Again in 2019 And That's The Right Decision
After everything that happened yesterday this is the correct decision. You absolutely could not, by any means, have Domingo German throwing a baseball this October for the New York Yankees. I realize that the investigation is not fully complete, but it’s very clear something bad happened and with that cloud hanging over their heads, you just could not have him play for the rest of the year. There’s no room for that in any situation ever. I’m still curious if the team knew on Wednesday before he pitched in relief of CC, but that’s another story. For right now, he has to be shutdown. I’m sure there will be people out there saying that’s bullshit, but this is the right call.
As for the team moving forward, I don’t want to go full into how this affects them in October because the situation is more serious than that, but all I’ll say is Next Man Up. It’s been the mantra all season long. It’s not going to stop now. Everyone in that clubhouse is vital to championship number 28. They’re a freight train that remains unstoppable. It’s time for Luis Severino to step up and be a monster all postseason long.
