Atlanta Being More West Than Detroit Shouldn't Be A Shock Because Maps Are Literally Fake

Coley’s blog/tweet today is making waves.

Folks are shocked. They can’t believe it. How could this be true?

To me, it’s not shocking at all. Why? Well, the map that you know of the world is literally fake. Here is what it should look like:

Most people I’ve talked to about maps have never even heard of such a thing. They think what they were taught in school, the globe on your teacher’s desk is the real map of the world. It’s not. The map we use is done to make Europe and America bigger than it actually is. Why? Well, it’s done to make those continents more powerful than they actually are. I mean look at Europe on the map above to what you actually think it is. The map we typically use also diminishes the true size of Africa.

Question everything, folks. Once your done, then look into it. That’s the motto of life. Question. Look into it. Repeat.
