John Calipari Was So Nervous To Golf With Barack Obama, He Went Through A 3-Day Bootcamp So He Wouldn't Suck

[KSR] - So, Calipari had his golf clubs shipped to him and hired a pro to help him find his swing in a three-day bootcamp.

“After the first day, he said, ‘You’re probably right. Let’s put the driver in the bag and let’s just hit the three wood to see if you can get it up.’”

“I’m like, what in the hell is going on here? But I’m on the first tee and I hear this rustling, and I look back and there are all these people on the deck and they’re taking video of me taking this [swing]. And I haven’t breathed yet, I haven’t played in five years, and I’ve got to hit this ball. I go back and…”

“HELL NO, 220 DOWN THE MIDDLE!” Calipari exclaimed. “And they said, the president said, ‘You’re not a 20 handicap! I’ll be a 20 handicap.’”

Just when I couldn’t love my coach any more I read this story. Going through a 3 day bootcamp? Striping the ball right down the middle of the fairway with a crowd in front of him? Name another coach that can perform like that on the golf course. There’s no one. This is how I picture him walking after his first drive too

I can’t imagine how terrifying it would be to golf with secret service all around. It’s already a bit terrifying when someone lets you play through or there’s a backup on the first tee. It’s a 50/50 shot that you hit an average shot in that situation. Now throw in a bunch of secret service dudes and there’s a 100% chance that’s going into the woods. But not when you’re Coach Cal. You stripe that fucker like you’re Blake Koepka.

I do have a bit of a problem with though. Actually I got a big problem with Obama here. Take a look at this:

The hell is he doing with that Carolina blue shirt and Louisville red bag? He trying to get in Cal’s head? What’s his angle? I mean if he’s trolling him on purpose I respect the move – gotta beat your opponent.
