Jeremy Pruitt Compared Tennessee's Start Of The Season To The Titanic

Tennessee’s start to the 2019 season has been nothing but disappointment. Just ask Big T:

Yesterday, Jeremy Pruitt was speaking to the Knoxville QB Club (a place so southern it hurts) about Tennessee’s start to the season and players leaving the program:

SOURCE-“I think ‘Titanic’ came out maybe when I was in college. When the boat starts going down, remember all the mice running to the top, right? We have had a few that left our program, but you will figure out who wants to be a Tennessee Vol and who don’t. I can tell you this: I want to. I know the standards and expectations that we have and the men on our staff and the character that we have. You will see the best of the players at Tennessee throughout the year.”

What an absolutely bizarre quote from Pruitt. I shouldn’t be surprised though. Football guys love making comparison’s that don’t make any logical sense outside of their mind.

Let’s start with the fact that you should never, ever, EVER compare your program that started 0-2 (with losses to Georgia State and BYU) to the Titanic. All the mice on the Titanic died, because, you know, the ship sank. Also, the people and mice (I guess?) who were smart enough to leave the Titanic before it sank didn’t die, because, you know, they weren’t on the SINKING SHIP.

Tough times in Tennessee. They have FCS Chatanooga this weekend. A 2-10 or 1-11 season isn’t out of the question after that game. If that does happen, Pruitt may well end up just like the mice on the Titanic….dead.
