Rafa Nadal Wins The US Open in a Five Set Thriller To Pull Within One Grand Slam Title Of Federer

Well goddamn that was awesome. Here I was thinking Nadal was going to coast to a straight set US Open title and then Daniil Medvedev comes out of nowhere to push this five hours and five sets long thriller. Ridiculous shots left and right. Medvedev almost pulling off the impossible late and breaking Nadal twice in a row to level the fifth set but coming up just short. What a match.

Hats off to Rafa. 19 grand slam titles. One behind Fed for the all time lead. You can pencil him in for 20 with next year’s French too. The guy just doesn’t stop. Fed will always be my GOAT, but Rafa is doing all he can to change the conversation.
