Michael Lorenzen Became The First Player To Earn The Win, Hit a Home Run and Play in the Field in the Same Game Since Babe Ruth

Baseball is full of obscure stats and firsts that are so meaningless. Oh so and so was the first guy ever to hit three doubles in three straight night games or something like that. But anytime you’re doing something that Babe Ruth was the last to do, that’s SOMETHING.

Babe Ruth and Michael Lorenzen one in the same. Obviously. Shohei Ohtani who? Get lost pal, Michael Lorenzen is the true two way prince in this league. You had your chance and then you blew out your arm.
