Old Man Yells At Cloud: Nick Saban Tells Players If You Want To Shit Talk Other Team, Join The Debate Team

No game has been played, but it appears we have our top Nick Saban rant of the season:

Love how fast Saban caught himself using goddamn.

“I tell our players, if you want to talk s— to the other team, join the god damn debate team,” he said.

…..

“I’m really sorry for using the Lord’s name in vain, but I just get really hot about what I see in sports that we promote in the media and in every other way that really is not a good thing,” he said. “That’s not what we are trying to accomplish in what we do.”

He knew that using the Lord’s name in vain without apologizing could result in some serious ramifications with his fans and, more importantly, boosters.

I like players who shit talk, but also understand Saban’s point. However, I completely disagree with something he said later in the interview:

Self-indulgent behavior? From college football players? The ones that you get millions of dollars to coach but they aren’t allowed to make any? Ridiculous if you ask me.

This is very old man yells at cloud-ish. We are better than that, Nick. Come on, think of the recruits.
