The Newest Look At 'The Rise Of Skywalker' Has Sith Rey And I Have Been Shook To My Core

You know, we went through a long phase during the build-up to ‘Star Wars – Episode VIII: The Last Jedi’ where it seemed like everybody on the internet was wondering whether or not Rey would fall to the Dark Side on a daily basis. Aside from the fact that the balance between good and evil is one of the saga’s main themes, and that the film in question was the middle chapter (where the turn would make the most sense), this talk was spurred on by some classic trailer misdirection that featured Kylo Ren extending his hand out towards Rey…

…and some clever marketing…

…but as we all know by, in the end, Rey successfully resisted Kylo and Snoke’s pull to the Dark, and embraced her powers for good, proving stronger than anybody ever knew possible.

I’ll be honest – I never thought I’d have to worry about that again. I even got cocky and tweeted some Sith Rey concepts out recently, because fuck, who could speak that into existence?!

I mean…

WHAT?! WHAT THE FUCK?! REY?! WITH A…A…WHAT?!?!?! WHAT?! WHY?!?! WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Not only is Rey donning dark, Sith-like robes, and wielding a fucking double bladed red lightsaber…she’s got that fold out Temple Guard mothafucka from Rebels! What?!

I’m praying to the Maker that what we’re looking at is either a clever ruse to backstab The Emperor, or a dream sequence, because lord almighty, my weak heart can’t take a Rey turn. Not a real one. Please don’t put me through that, JJ. Even though it’s incredibly fucking cool and I hate that I have to admit that, being a Light Side ride or die.

Rey and Kylo are featured fighting on the Death Star wreckage on what I believe is the Forest Moon of Endor in what is undoubtedly one of the coolest duel shots ever…

…and we got a whole bunch of cool new shots of the cast…

…but obviously, the standing image from this one will be Sith Rey, which we’ll talk about for months to come.
