In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Odenkirk spoke briefly about the movie: “I’ve heard so many different things about it, but I am excited about the Breaking Bad movie. I can’t wait to see it…I don’t know what people know and don’t know. I find it hard to believe you don’t know it was shot. They did it. You know what I mean? How is that a secret? But it is. They’ve done an amazing job of keeping it a secret.”

Now this isn’t totally *old* news, as Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul have teased out hints that there will be a Breaking Bad movie for some time…

…but this is the first we’ve been made aware that it’s already completed its filming.  Big Friday news dump!

I’ve seen Breaking Bad start to finish 5x.  Just last week I was under the weather and started at season 4 and finished it off again.  Ya know why?  Because it’s the greatest show in the history of television.  That’s an objective opinion, too.  Not many shows from any genre have had such a great plot lines while also sticking the landing like Breaking Bad did.

There has been whispers/confirmations on a Breaking Bad movie for a while now, but Odenkirk himself saying it’s already been shot?  Awesome.  I’ll see it opening night aka I’ll probably wait for it to hit Netflix.  But like…

***spoiler alert***

Do we even want a Breaking Bad sequel?  I mean… Hank is dead.  Mike is dead. Walt is dead (we think?).  The Nazis, Gus, and just about everyone else are dead.  Apparently they are going to do a sequel on what Jesse did after he escaped from the Nazi compound, but that’s what made the ending so great to me.  That it left Jesse’s story open to interpretation from the viewer.  Did he wind up in Alaska?  Open up shop again now that he’s in charge?  Rat on all of the dead people?  Who knows.

But In Vince Gilligan We Trust.  Simple as that.  Better Call Saul has been solid (though not great, too slow IMO). Nevertheless I’ll consume any Gilligan creation from now until he’s done writing.  Anything he touches has a chance to turn to gold, and Breaking Bad proved that.

MY TOP 5 BREAKING BAD SCENES

5. Mike “Half Measures” Speech

4. Tuco Salamanca “This is Not Meth”

3. “Stay out of my territory”

2. “Run”

1. Breaking Bad “felina”

I’m a sucker for a good ending and Breaking Bad’s was the best it could have possibly been.  Just wrapped up the entire story while leaving just a little “what if” with Jesse becoming free again.  Goddamnit what a great show.
