Nick Castellanos Dares You To Prove That Everyday Isn't Opening Day And My Mind Is In A Pretzel

If what has happened is a memory and what is going to happen is a thought then you’re taking yourself out of right now”

I’m sorry, was that Nick Castellanos or Confusious? The only thing going deeper than Castellanos home runs are Castellanos thoughts. I fucking love this guy. Just a pure baseball guy. Every day is opening day and if you disagree then you better have your facts in order. Like when he says “prove that it’s not opening day” and the room starts laughing…not Castellabos. This isn’t a joke to him. It’s a way of life. Look at him, all stoic and irreverant

Some dumbass reporter cites things like “your record” and “the calendar”…give it some thought one time for me. Those things are a social construct. Nick Castellanos lives outside of that. He doesn’t deal in space and time. He’s living every day like there’s no tomorrow, because there isn’t one. I feel like if they let him keep talking Castellanos might tell us that we are living in a simulation. Who knows where his mind would go if unteathered, but I would love to talk to him and find out.

I am trying to remember a time when I fell in love with a rental/midseason acquisition like I’m doing with Castellanos. The only guy that comes to mind is Johnny Oduya. He was a 2012 deadline pick up that the Blackhawks eventually re-signed and went on to win two Cups. He was an absolute gangster. Wish it worked out better the second time he was acquired at the deadline.
