Phil Mickelson's Hotel In Chicago Got Struck By Lightning, Caught On Fire And Almost Made Him Miss His Tee Time

What a strange story involving Phil Mickelson here. Phil is out in Chicago playing in the BMW Championship and, according to him, his hotel got struck by lighting (he was staying in the top floor, low key flex), the place caught on fire and they couldn’t get back to his room to get his clubs. Wild stuff. Phil started his own Twitter show called Phireside with Phil and you have to wonder if maybe he’s lying about the lightning and he just accidentally knocked over a candle or something and the place caught on fire. It’s unlikely but also likely.

Sounds like everything is okay though and he’ll make his tee time at Medinah

What would Phil have done without his clubs and clothes? Would he just track down another set, purchase an outfit at the pro shop and head out to the course? If that’s the case then I’m a little bummed he was able to get to his room in time.
